Our hotel is proud to be close to the venerable Chautauqua Institution. Since 1874, this lakeside academic retreat has been organizing world-class lecture series, programming, and education. Entrance to the Institution during the summer begins with purchasing the Gate Pass, which gives you access to the grounds, lectures, and performances at the orchestra and amphitheater.
The nine-week long program of events at the Chautauqua Institution will fill your days with learning activities, performances, and lectures. There are also things to do with little ones, with summer camp, golf, sailing, and all-day fun. Each week at the festival follows a theme, with live entertainment, music, and learning all centered on the chosen theme. For more on the 2018 Roster and to start planning when to visit, see the Institution’s website.
More than just a lecture series, the Chautauqua Institution offers a resort atmosphere, with the grounds of the historic town all centered around the Institution’s larger educational purpose. Explore the grounds to admire this lakeside community and its beautiful Victorian homes and architecture.
